Beauty in the Mundane

Remember that there is beauty

In the mundane,

And peace in the sleeping eyes

Of your child

Snuggled softly in your arms.

That adventure need not to be

Far from home

When little hands

Can feel flower petals

Just minutes from your door step.

Remember that there is

Love in the belly of a baby,

Drunk off mother’s milk

And that tired legs

need not feel useless

Because they haven’t tread

More than the echos of your

Living room.

Remember this because,

although you may not have traveled far

You are a million beautiful miles

From the place you were before.

Before Penelope these short walks would be nothing, now they are everything. It’s amazing how seeing the world through a child’s eyes can remind you of how much you have to be grateful for.
